Surgeons
Dr. Richard V. Buonocore
Dr. Buonocore is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his postdoctoral training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Cooper Medical Center. He has conducted research in sterotactic radiosurgery and cardiac electro physiology.
Dr. Ned Z. Carp
Dr. Carp is a native Philadelphian who graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Abington Memorial Hospital and his surgical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Carp is also a member of The American Radium Society, the Society for Surgical Oncology, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and a Member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group.
He is Chairman of the Lankenau Cancer Committee and Chief of the Section of Surgical Oncology at Lankenau Hospital. His sub-specialty is oncologic surgery.
Dr. Bruce B. Garber
Dr. Garber completed his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors), and was elected to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa organization. He completed his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, receiving his M.D. degree in 1980. In 1985 he completed a Residency in Urology at The Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently practices Urology in Philadelphia.
Scoring in the 98th percentile on his written examination, Dr. Garber was Certified by The American Board of Urology in 1987, and achieved Re-Certification in 1996 and again in 2005. A Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of numerous medical and surgical societies, Dr. Garber strives for the highest standards of Urologic care for his patients. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine, and actively trains resident physicians in Philadelphia, PA.
The author of many scientific articles in the medical literature, Dr. Garber has developed expertise in several Urologic subspecialty areas, including:
1. Treatment of male erectile dysfunction;
2. Microwave therapy of enlarged prostate symptoms;
3. Outpatient GreenLight PVP™ prostate laser vaporization;
4. Cryo-ablation (freezing) of prostate cancer; and
5. CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery for prostate cancer.
Dr. Leonard F. Hirsh, FACS
Dr. Hirsh has served as chief of Neurosurgery at Crozer for more than 25 years, and is an active member of the hospital’s Neurosurgical Trauma Team. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, he completed his internship and neurosurgical training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Veterans Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has published more than 50 medical articles in world literature. He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Temple University.
Dr. Thomas Matulewski
Dr. Matulewski is a general and vascular surgeon with Delaware Valley Surgical Associates who practices at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College, where he completed his internship and residency, and completed a fellowship in vascular surgery with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Matulewski strives to make his patients comfortable and confident throughout their treatment regimen. He is proud to provide “care that most people think they can only get in the city” in a community setting, and focuses on providing individualized care to patients and their families.
A surgeon since 1979, Dr. Matulewski stays current on medical developments by attending medical conferences, reading journal articles, and frequently discussing the latest advancements and procedures with colleagues. In his spare time he enjoys reading, golfing, fishing and visiting the beach.
Dr. David McCloskey
Dr. McCloskey is a general and vascular surgeon with Delaware Valley Surgical Associates who practices at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. He is a graduate of Penn State University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, where he completed his surgery residency. Dr. McCloskey is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. McCloskey’s areas of interest include hernia, colon, gallbladder and gastrointestinal surgery, as well as dialysis access and breast surgery. He regularly attends medical conferences to stay abreast of current treatment protocols.
A surgeon since 1988, Dr. McCloskey’s patient philosophy emphasizes treating patients with honesty and integrity. In his spare time, Dr. McCloskey enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, boating and waterskiing.
Dr. Leonard Milewski
Dr. Milewski is a general surgeon with Delaware Valley Surgical Associates who practices at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. He is a graduate of LaSalle College and Hahnemann University Hospital, where he also completed his residency. Dr. Milewski is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
His philosophy is to partner with his patients in health care decision-making. Dr. Milewski’s style of care emphasizes building a long-term doctor-patient relationship and accommodating his patients’ schedules and lifestyles. He also realizes the role of preventive medicine in wellness and pays meticulous attention to diagnostic evaluation and therapy planning.
Dr. Michael I. Stanley
Dr. Stanley graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, then completed his surgical internships and residencies at the University of Cincinnati, Good Samaritan Hospital and Christ Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
