CyberKnife Nurse – Michael Good

Michael GoodMichael is the Research Coordinator and CyberKnife Clinical Nurse. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maryland, he started his career as an Oncology Nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Upon moving to Philadelphia, he obtained his master’s degree in counseling and has adapted this degree in his work with cancer patients. With 25 years of oncology experience, Michael has managed both patients and staff in medical oncology and radiation oncology. After 13 years in the radiation oncology field, he now specializes in stereotactic radiation therapy at Philadelphia CyberKnife.

As the CyberKnife Nurse, Michael provides clinical support and coordination of care for our patients beginning with the first consultation visit, throughout the treatment schedule and continuing to the follow-up appointments with your CyberKnife physician. Michael assesses patients in consultation with the CyberKnife radiation oncologist, coordinates appointments and treatment schedules, educates and supports patients and families in preparation for treatment, including symptom management and arranging follow-ups.

Chief Medical Physicist – Jun Yang, Ph.D, DABR

Jun YangBefore joining Philadelphia CyberKnife as the chief physicist when the center was founded in March 2006, Dr. Yang practiced as a medical physicist at the University of Miami and at the CyberKnife Center of Miami.

As one of most experienced CyberKnife physicists in the country, Dr. Yang has managed the treatment plans of more than 2,500 CyberKnife patients. Dr. Yang is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics. He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American Society of Radiation Oncology and he serves on the physics committee for the CyberKnife Society. As an adjunct clinical associate professor of Drexel University, he is active in stereotactic radiosurgery physics research and has authored and co-authored many publications on medical physics with emphasis on CyberKnife technology.
